Please inquire to schedule your Mosaic Art Workshop. I can also schedule a private workshop based on your schedule, with a minimum of 3 students.
You’ll be welcomed into a working mosaic studio and guided step by step through the process of designing and creating a mosaic art piece. After a brief introduction and creative warm-up, you’ll learn how to select materials, cut tiles, and arrange patterns using traditional mosaic techniques. With hands-on guidance from a Evelyne, you’ll work at your own pace while developing your design and assembling your artwork. All tools and materials are provided, and no prior experience is necessary. By the end of the experience, you’ll leave with a finished mosaic art piece and practical skills you can continue to explore on your own. Water and light refreshments are provided.
1) Welcome & Creative Warm-Up — Guests are welcomed into the garden studio and introduced to the workspace. A short creative warm-up helps guests observe materials, colors, and textures and prepares them for hands-on mosaic work.
2) Design & Material Selection —
Guests create a simple design for their mosaic or choose from a selection of example designs provided by the host. They then select tiles, colors, and materials they will use for their piece.
3) Mosaic Creation & Tile Cutting — Guests transfer their design onto the base and begin assembling their mosaic. The host demonstrates how to safely use mosaic tools to cut tiles into the desired shapes and explains placement and gluing techniques. Guests work at their own pace with ongoing guidance.
4) Break While Tiles Set —While the mosaic pieces set, guests take a break and enjoy lunch in the garden. Guests are asked to bring their own lunch. This time allows the adhesive to dry before moving on to the final stage of the mosaic process.
5) Grouting & Finishing Techniques — Guests choose a grout color and learn how to mix and apply grout to their mosaic. The host demonstrates cleaning techniques at different stages of drying to achieve a finished surface. Guests complete their mosaic piece during this stage.
